Two Months!

Peyton turned 2 months on May 14! He's growing into such a big boy already!

Today was his 2 month check up. I've been dreading this appointment because of all the shots he had to get. But like an Olson champ, he took it great!

He weighs 11 lbs, 12 oz & is in the 50th percentile. He's 24 in long, and in the 75th percentile for length. Doctor said he's looking good and is on track!

Mother's Day

This year I got to celebrate Mother's Day -- what a fun time!

The Friday of Mother's Day weekend, Peyton started smiling BIG TIME! Perfect timing for our trip to Flagstaff to see all the family. He smiled all weekend long for everyone and was such a cute little dude.

Saturday we drove up to Flagstaff and had a nice dinner out with Steve's family. That night Steve woke up with Peyton so I could get some Mother's Day rest... unfortunately Peyton had a really rough night, waking up constantly! Poor Steve. Well actually, we were all in the room together so I didn't get much rest either. We think Peyton was having trouble adjusting to the altitude and maybe had some altitude sickness. Ginger even got sick the next day, so maybe she was on the same boat as Peyton? Who knows, but thank goodness we're all back to normal now!

On Sunday, my mom and Bob, Julie, Laurie, and Gary all came up to Flagstaff to spend the day with us. Most of Steve's extended family were there and it was a big celebration! I got lots of nice gifts from everyone, including 3 necklaces! It was a necklace-giving kinda day. :) My mom gave me a beautiful necklace with my birthstone. Joan gave me a super cute necklace with Peyton's name & birthdate engraved, and Julie gave me a beautiful heart necklace.

It was an extra special weekend because Peyton met his Great Grandma Jane for the first time! We got a 4 generation picture with Great Grandma Jane, Grandma Joan, Daddy and Peyton.

That night we watched the Suns sweep the Spurs, then everyone headed back to Phoenix.

The celebration continues... I have a massage to cash in and Saturday I got yet another full nights rest. Maybe you're tired of hearing me talk about that, but there's really NOTHING BETTER than that! I think that will be on my wish list for the next year :)

Happy 60th Birthday, Mom!

Today is my mom's 60th birthday... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, MOMMA!

On May 1st my sisters and I threw her a surprise 60th birthday party and it was a huge success! It really remained a surprise, somehow, until the moment she walked in. More details to come on that!

Peyton and I made the trip to Grandma's house this morning so she could have some quality one-on-one time with him... let's face it, there's no better gift for a grandma than some cuddles and smiles from her grandson! :)

This is a big year for milestone birthdays... Steve turns 30, my mom and dad both turned 60, and my grandma turns 90. 2010 is a year to celebrate!

Happy birthday mom. I love you!

All SMILES!

For about 2 weeks Peyton's face has been lighting up when he sees us and he's been showing signs of smiling. We've gotten lots of sleep smiles and tiny smiles that were gone before they started, but on Friday, we got his first "real, social smile!"

I was playing on the couch with him when suddenly he just started smiling all over the place! I didn't wanna miss it, so I sat there just taking it in. Then I pulled out the camera hoping there was more to come. I ended up getting an 8 minute video with lots of smiles! I cut a few clips out for you to see.

I noticed that Peyton does this high shriek after he smiles. At first I wasn't sure if it was a fluke, but after quite a few smiles I realized it was part of it. =)

What a fantastic way to start my first Mother's Day weekend! And this was only the beginning. He smiled all weekend long for everyone to see.

I've got so much to write about, so more blogging to come... hopefully tomorrow. For now, enjoy Peyton's smiles! xoxo!
