Peyton had a really long, two-day play date this week. At least that's more of what it felt like as opposed to a babysitting job!
I watched my friend
Megan's 9 month & 3 year old kiddos on Thursday & Friday for the day. They're truly amazingly good kids! I always knew this, but I got to experience it first hand.
Big brother Noah has such great manners and it took me by surprise... being served lunch and waiting for me to tell him, "you may eat." At first I had to figure out why he was just sitting there! Saying, "thank you" for everything. And the best was during nap time. He didn't nap, but he did lay in the room until I told him otherwise, without a complaint. I had papers in piles all over the floor in there, and my first thought was to clear them out, but decided not to. He didn't touch them, whereas most 3 year olds would've had them spewed across the room.
He looked both ways before crossing the street, and he was a big help. He loves his little brother Owen and truly cares for baby Peyton. Once when Peyton cried, he went over to him and gave him a kiss on the forehead and Peyton smiled. My heart smiled so big.
Then there's Owen, who's crawling everywhere! He's such a brave boy, who will sleep anywhere without a fuss. He loves to "play" with Peyton and is so easy going.
His mom and dad are doing everything right. I can't wait until I get to do this again!

ReplyDeleteOh. my. gosh. I love this blog entry, but you make me want to cry! Thanks for the compliments, we try our best with them but it is HARD, so it's always nice to hear that every now and then. YOU are doing everything right, too! Thanks again for watching them, they had a blast and I'm so glad our boys can play together (nicely!)
