We kicked off his birthday weekend on Friday by spending the day at AZ Mills mall. My Uncle Denny & Aunt Ginger from Riverside, CA were in town for his party, so my mom and Bob took the day off and we all headed to the Sea Life Aquarium at the mall. Peyton LOVED it! He squealed at all the fishies and pounded on the glass. He really took it all in and enjoyed himself, as we all did.

After the aquarium, we ate at the Rainforest Cafe (where I had the best fish tacos!). Our sever loved Peyton to pieces and surprised him (& us!) with some ice cream and a bunch of the servers sang him the birthday song. He loved it! She told me that they normally don't sing to babies, but she had been watching him throughout lunch and thought he was so well behaved and couldn't resist. I think she must've been a long lost sister of mine, because she was kinda acting like Julie and Laurie in regards to Peyton! ;) After lunch we shopped till we dropped and headed home.

Saturday was the big party! I'll blog about that separately. It was such a great time! Later that evening, we went to dinner with my sisters Laurie & Julie at a (not so yummy) Mexican restaurant. Ha :)
We spent Sunday with my sister Laurie who had stayed with us all weekend. That evening we headed over to Mesa Center for the Arts and had Peyton's 1 year pictures professionally taken. After, we met Dennis & Joan for dinner. Another busy and fun day!

Monday, Peyton's actual first birthday, was spent... WORKING!! I went into the office with Steve and helped him most of the day, while Grandpa Dennis had the honor of watching the birthday boy. ;) (Thank you, Dennis!) That night Steve and I sang Happy Birthday to Peyton, took a few pictures, and wrapped up his first birthday festivities.
I couldn't have dreamt of a more perfect first birthday weekend for Peyton. Thank you to everyone who made it so special!

So fun!!
