Swim Lessons, Day 5.

Today my sister went with me to swim lessons which worked out great since Steve had to work late.  She got in the water with us and we had a fun time!

I was a little worried that since Steve wasn't with us, Peyton would get bored and give me a hard time, but he didn't!

He did SO good today.  He didn't complain once.  He did everything he'd done last week.  Our biggest accomplishment today was learning how to climb out of the pool.  And once he learned, he did it over & over & over.  I think he was concerned at first that the pavement was hot because he kept saying "hot".  As soon as I splashed it and showed him it wasn't hot, he was more motivated to climb out.

He also climbed across the wall and "jumped" in a lot.  He really just falls in, we're working on the jump part.  :)

Another new thing the instructor (Miss Janine) had the kids do today was swim to the wall.  So we'd push him off right before the wall, just close enough to struggle a little and grab it on his own.  He hasn't choked on water at all, sometimes he'll cough and sneeze, but he's never had any major moments.

After the lesson we went to the baby pool.  This is where he really started climbing in and out of the water.  He'd climb out, slide back in, then did that about 15 times.  He finally looked like he was actually playing in the pool like a little kid rather than just wading.

Even though it seems like the swim lessons are sometimes very slow at the time, I love writing about it and realizing how much he really is accomplishing!
