Happy 2011!

Whew!  We made it to Jan 2nd, the official end of the holiday season, in my opinion.  The last 10 days have flown by with lots going on.  Let me fill you in!

Starting with Christmas Eve -- My dad and Laurie came over and spent the evening, or actually stayed until the early morning (nearly 1am! clearly we were having too much fun!) cooking, eating, opening gifts, napping, sipping eggnog, eating Rock Spring pies, and laughing.  It was such a fun & cozy night together!

This Santa doll made Peyton CRACK UP.  It sings & dances, and just the sight of it now makes him giggle!  If he spots it across the room, you'll know!

This is the second round, but the very first time he saw it he was belly laughing the whole time!

Christmas Day was spent at Dennis & Joan's.  We had a nice breakfast and opened tons of gifts.  That afternoon, my dad and Laurie joined us for a Christmas dinner at their house!

The day after Christmas, we went to Julie & Gary's for a ham dinner and to celebrate Christmas with them, along with my mom and Bob.  We got even more wonderful gifts!  Man, we must've been super good this year!  Well after all, we did give our parents a grandchild.  :)

Then on Monday we went to the Phoenix Zoo Lights.  It was much more exciting than I remember, with it almost seeming like a carnival.  It was packed, and I mean walking shoulder to shoulder the entire time, but still fun nonetheless.

We spent the rest of the week prioritizing Peyton's sleep schedule, since it had been so off.  He's finally over his cold (as we all are) and has a very visible tooth on top.  I still think his cold is related to teething, since last time he got one, he got a tooth days later.  As a matter of fact, the only two times he's gotten a cold, he's gotten a tooth out of it!  :)

We also welcomed very cold temperatures this week, as well as SNOW IN THE VALLEY OF THE SUN!!  That hasn't happened since 1998.  NYE in Phoenix was colder than New York City!  It made for a pretty drive up to Flagstaff this weekend, with visible snow on the mountains starting in Scottsdale.
