January 1, 2011 (1-1-11) was Steve's grandma's 90th birthday... sounds lucky to me! Grandma Jane is doing amazing for 90 years young. She looks fantastic and her health is great. We celebrated with her on her birthday, along with the extended family, for a big surprise party!We were planning on ringing in the new year up North in Flagstaff (where grandma lives), but with all the snow and icy roads, we decided to drive up New Years Day instead. So, we rang in the New Year here, by going to dinner and having our own fireworks display -- the highlight of Steve's year, I think! We made it to midnight, kissed, then off to bed. Peyton slept through all the noisy fireworks we let off right outside his window, then again through all the "booms!" at midnight. It was perfect. :) Fun fact: this was our 10th New Years that Steve and I kissed at midnight. :p
So on Saturday, we arrived in Flagstaff (with no road problems at all! however, there was snow on the mountains starting Scottsdale! We saw snow on our entire drive up there!) just in time to mingle and see Grandma Jane walk into her surprise birthday party! We had a great dinner, and went back to Uncle Gregg & Aunt Terri's house for presents and more fun (& fireworks, courtesy of Steve!) Grandma was truly happy with her party, and seemed surprised to see all of her kids there, including the one's from CO & NY!It was a great weekend, and a nice start to 2011. Again, HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY, GRANDMA JANE! xoxo
