First off, I'm actually pumped to get back into the classroom (or on the field, in this case) with 3rd-5th grade girls. It's a 10 week program (on Monday & Wednesday's) where four of us coaches teach about 20 girls self-respect & healthy lifestyles through running activities. On May 7th, we'll end the season with a 5k run.
Side note, I'm very lucky that my mom and Steve's dad are able to watch Peyton on Monday & Wednesdays, so no babysitter needed! :)
Anyway, today was day 1 and it went great, but sadly, our fearless leader Megan, was home sick with two puking boys and herself. She was so disappointed to miss out on something she brought to her school and has been working so hard on for nearly a year. And we, the three other leaders, were so sad and really, scared to death, to be without her!
To make it worse, it was raining (let's not forget to mention it's been 70* & sunny for the past several weeks) and another coach had to leave early for a last minute signing of papers to sell her house. BUUUUT, we did great with what we had and the girls seemed to be very excited about the season. So here's to a great first season... GooooOOOO TEAM! GIRLS ON THE RUN IS SO MUCH FUN! ;)
